Real Talk with Tom Castelli has been in the works since 2019, and I’m about ready to release it. In this blog, I’ll explain the genesis of the podcast, why I’m creating it, what it will be about, and who should tune in.
The Genesis of Real Talk with Tom Castelli
Although the idea for this podcast started in 2019, I struggled for years with the title and premise.
“The Wealth Building Process,” “Complete Financial Advice for Real Estate Investors,” “Complete Lifestyle Advice on Building Health and Wealth,” “The Sophisticated Investor Podcast,” and even “The Thomas Castelli Show” (cringe) were all potential titles. Various concepts for the show and what topics I would cover came with these titles. However, none really “fit” what I was truly going for until I stumbled on Real Talk With Tom Castelli: No BS Insights on Wealth, Health, Business, and Investing for The Driven, not more than a few weeks ago.
This title encompasses not only the various topics I want to discuss and explore but also my core values of integrity and overall communication style, which, for better or worse, many have come to know me for.
Why I’m Creating the Real Talk with Tom Castelli Podcast
It all started in 2014-2015 when I became an avid podcast listener and, with that, the desire to become a podcaster. Today, I produce and co-host a top 200 business podcast called The Tax Smart REI Podcast, which helps real estate investors reduce taxes with hard-hitting tax strategies, tips, and stories from successful investors. While I love the show, there are other topics I want to explore and share with the world that wouldn’t necessarily be a good fit for this show.
These topics are tied to my chief definite purpose: to live the good life and build generational wealth while helping others do the same.
To aid in this mission, topics I’ll cover include:
- General business
- Financial planning and wealth management
- Passive investing in real estate and small businesses
- Related frameworks I developed or am developing
- Diet and health
Real Talk allows me to discuss and explore these topics independently without disrupting the niche Tax Smart REI Podcast.
Why now, in 2024? There are a few reasons for this, but a surge of motivation has come over me over the last few months, propelling me to take massive action on my latent dreams that went by the wayside since the COVID-19 shutdowns in 2020, which stalled my momentum.
Who Should Tune Into Real Talk with Tom Castelli?
This podcast is for the “The Driven“, a concept popularized by Russell Brunson. While most drift through life aimlessly, taking whatever comes their way, The Driven are those of us on a mission and are actively working toward realizing success, no matter what it takes.
Combine this with a No BS approach, and this show is for those of us who want to make things happen. If you don’t have a proactive mindset, you might find some of the themes and ideas a bit intense.
